Hello!
My name is Christopher Freeman, and I am a storyteller and worldbuilder interested in transmedia narratives and games. I will graduate from Miami University in May 2023 with a major in Creative Writing and Transmedia Narrative Design, as well as a minor in Games & Simulation. I have spent my time in Miami designing several narrative projects that connect to my passion for digital and tabletop games.
I have previously completed independent development on my RPG-Maker game, Faithless, which will be developed into a more extensive product coming to Itch.io soon. Addtionally, I am editing and publishing a novella titled The Archangels of Alabrass, set inside the world of Faithless.
Outside of school work, I am a professional dungeon master and a casual player of role-playing games. I spend great swaths of time generating fantastical worlds, enchanted realms, original characters, and hundreds of pages of history, lore, and dialogue. I love making worlds that players and people can get immersed within, and I have found that no medium does this quite as well as games.
My Story
I was born in Concord, Massachusetts but was raised in Union, Kentucky, just twenty-something minutes south of Cincinnati. I've been fascinated with fiction, fantasy, and folklore for as long as I can recall. Like many people, I think the work of J.R.R. Tolkien was the first thing that truly inspired me as a writer. In Middle school, I began to turn my childhood games and scribbles into short stories, a hobby I continued to pursue throughout high school. By sophomore year of high school, I was writing a story a week, and whether I knew it or not, I was developing a deep passion for all things game-related. In time, the disconnected narratives of my high school career began to synthesize into something more significant, eventually leading to the development of my Faithless IP.

Once I had graduated from Larry A. Ryle High School in 2019, I knew I wanted to keep chasing my writing dreams, so I applied for and was accepted into Miami University. The last four years at Miami have been excellent, even with the pandemic wedged in between! I have made friends with many talented creators, connected with many inspirational professors, and learned much more than I could have ever imagined. I am thankful to Miami for giving me such a wonderful space to learn and grow and, most of all, for providing me with the tools and skills to define my passions. I now know that I want to be a game writer, making narrative experiences that can exist both inside and outside the digital world of games. Looking toward the future, I am excited to continue my work on my various narrative projects and discover more opportunities to make new stories!
